About:

Sometimes you need to take the step, reach out, and get professional help. You may be feeling stuck, alone, or down. And all your efforts to feel better have not succeeded.

Many of the people who come to see me are frustrated and depressed. My clients often feel very isolated, and in spite of their best efforts they just can't seem to pull out of this state. In a similar vein, in their relationships they keep ending up in the same unhealthy and toxic patterns.

Does any of this resonate? With my 25-plus years of experience, I can accompany and guide you to heal yourself. I offer services for individuals, couples, families, and parents.

Individual Psychotherapy

Do you suffer or struggle with...?

Anxiety Depression ADHD Sleep difficulties or insomnia Trauma Excessive anger Low self-esteem and low self-worth Grief and loss Food and body issues

Through working with hundreds of clients I have found that "just" talking about what is bothering you is not enough. To feel better and to move on we need to get to the core of what is really going on. One of the best ways to achieve this is to focus on the here and now and to use your emotions as a "compass". In our sessions we explore what you are experiencing in the moment as a gateway to accessing your deeper needs. As an adjunct, and where appropriate, holistic therapies may be incorporated into our sessions.

Couples Therapy

In your marriage or relationship do you feel invalidated by your partner when you express what you feel and what is on your mind?

Do you long to feel understood and heard?

Couples therapy with a caring, non-judgmental professional can be a powerful way to improve how you relate to your partner/spouse.

In sessions I work with the Emotionally Focused Therapy [EFT for couples] model. Based on bonding theory, EFT can help you build better and stronger connections with your partner. The focus is on in-the-moment feelings and experience, and on the ongoing "dances" between you and your partner/spouse. This provides an effective way to work towards feeling heard and understood.

A goal of EFT for couples is to clear the air of "emotional contamination" and to create an emotional climate conducive to getting your needs and wishes met. Using the empirically validated EFT model as a map, I assist you and your spouse/partner to feel closer and more connected. In our sessions I guide you through the often rocky, emotionally dangerous and confusing terrain of intimate personal relating.

Parent Consulting

As a parent do you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and exasperated?

Do you long to "dance" gracefully with your children without stepping on each other's toes? There is a way to rise above this. I can help. Through consulting sessions we work to regain your sense of control.

Through an approach developed and modified over the past 25 years that I call Conscious Parenting, I give you tools to influence and change the way you relate to your children. Conscious Parenting incorporates being mindful, thinking systems, attachment theory, and a holistic and healthy lifestyle. In our sessions or parent groups, the goal is to create a more peaceful and harmonious home and to feel closer and more connected to your children.
