As a licensed clinical social worker, and certified advanced alcohol and addictions counselor, I know being human is hard. None of us make it through life without experiencing loss, disappointment, uncertainty, or pain, and I don't think healing comes from pretending those things shouldn't exist. I invite people to slow down, lean into what they're feeling, and get curious about what those experiences might be trying to tell them. We don't have to rush through discomfort to get to healing because becoming yourself is a lifelong process. I've found that when we stop fighting every uncomfortable feeling, we often discover it has something important to teach us.
