Jorge Camarena Altamirano is a BPC-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist, HCPC-registered and BAAT-registered art psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor based in London. He offers individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, and clinical supervision for trainee and qualified clinicians. Jorge has over 17 years’ experience working across NHS and private mental health settings, including senior clinical roles. His approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, informed by Mentalisation-Based Therapy, and centred on the therapeutic relationship. He trained at the Tavistock & Portman, Goldsmiths, University of London, and the Anna Freud Centre. He works with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional distress, low self-esteem, identity questions, and feelings of being stuck. His work offers a confidential and reflective space to explore recurring patterns, emotional responses, relationships, and past experiences that may continue to affect the present. Alongside individual therapy, Jorge offers couples therapy, supporting partners to think together about conflict, communication, intimacy, trust, and repeated relational patterns. He also provides clinical supervision informed by psychodynamic thinking, MBT, and attention to transference, countertransference, risk, and the therapist’s use of self. Jorge offers in-person sessions in East London and online sessions across the UK and internationally. He works in English and Spanish.
