Elise Perea

As a licensed mental health counselor, I work with clients who are experiencing feeling "off"; frustrated, unhappy, anxious, stuck or ashamed. Often clients express feeling like an outsider and are looking for someone who "gets it" when it comes to challenges with being an expat, with making major life transitions, parenting, managing mood, self-esteem, neurodivergence, or relational struggles. I specialize in working with individuals ready to release shame around ADHD and work on strategies, coping and improving their relationships with themselves. I also have a special interest in working with clients experiencing a desire for career discovery or change, as well as with those having career stress and challenges. In here, it is not just listening, though that is valuable and is a part of the work. It also is problem solving and sharing of the recent wins in life and love. It is noticing patterns and freeing yourself from automatic responses that aren't really helpful anymore. And it often is taking action, but with support, and practicing compassionate kindness to yourself as you do it - step by step. Clients flourish here in our collaborative, caring, deep, practical (and even, irreverent) partnership in healing that focuses on the individual and uses 'what works best for you' eclectic approaches. There is a good bit of laughter in our sessions. We are working with the 'wild ride of life' and are trying to make sense of it all, so its ok to take a moment to shake our heads in disbelief at the chaos and laugh at how ridiculous it can be sometimes!
