Hi, I’m Amnah Shaikh — a fully accredited CBT therapist with over a decade of experience in the NHS, now offering therapy through Mantra. I work with adults navigating anxiety, low mood, trauma, and the kind of persistent, critical thoughts that can quietly shape how we feel day to day. Thoughts like “I’m the problem,” “I’m worthless,” or “What if something bad happens…” can feel constant — affecting everything from how we get out of bed to how we show up in relationships or at work. These patterns often come with anxiety, obsessive thinking, or a sense of being on edge or disconnected. I specialise in helping you recognise, understand, and gently challenge these thoughts, while supporting you to make small, meaningful changes that help you feel more in control. My approach is grounded in evidence-based CBT, but always adapted to your pace and needs. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can begin to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself. Alongside my adult work, I also have extensive experience supporting children and young people — particularly in neurodevelopmental teams and primary care — which gives me a broad, flexible understanding of how difficulties can evolve across the lifespan.
