I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with a specialist focus on trauma therapy, supporting individuals who have experienced a wide range of psychological and emotional distress. My work is grounded in a compassionate, client-centred approach, providing a safe and confidential space where clients can explore and process difficult experiences at their own pace. I have experience working with trauma presentations including complex trauma, childhood adversity, abuse, loss, and PTSD. My approach is trauma-informed, recognising the impact of past experiences on present thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and prioritising safety, stabilisation, and empowerment throughout the therapeutic process. Drawing on an integrative framework, I incorporate evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs. These may include elements of person-centred therapy, psychodynamic insight, and somatic awareness, helping clients reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies. I am skilled in building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, empathy, and non-judgement. I work collaboratively with clients to support emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and facilitate meaningful, lasting change. My practice is underpinned by ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and regular supervision, ensuring that I provide effective, sensitive, and up-to-date trauma-informed care. In addition to my private practice, for the past 4 years I have been working with Sexual assault & Abuse Support Services (SAASSBMK) who have been providing advice, support and counselling to individuals in the community since 1995 (previously under the name of Aylesbury Vale Rape Crisis). All our services are designed to offer safety, choice, and support for anyone who has experienced rape, sexual assault or abuse. The service is committed to fulfilling their legal obligations under the Equality Act, upholding their principles of dignity, equality and inclusion, and ensuring that all those who need support after sexual violence can access it in a format which is right for them.
