Ananya Agarwal

I am a Sport Psychology Practitioner with a strong academic and applied background in performance psychology, athlete wellbeing, and high-performance sport. I hold an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Newcastle University, where I developed advanced expertise in psychological theory, evidence-based interventions, athlete mental health, performance enhancement, and research methodologies. My academic training has equipped me with the ability to critically evaluate psychological practices and apply theory effectively within sporting environments. I am currently on the SEPAR pathway, progressing towards HCPC registration as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist, and am committed to continually developing the competencies required for ethical, reflective, and impactful professional practice. My aim is to support athletes in optimising performance, enhancing wellbeing, and managing the psychological demands of competitive sport. Alongside my professional and academic development, I bring extensive lived experience from elite sport, having trained and competed as an artistic gymnast for over 13 years. As a Khelo India medallist and national-level gymnast, I have developed firsthand insight into the psychological challenges associated with high-performance sport, including pressure, injury, perfectionism, motivation, and resilience. This experience strengthens my ability to build rapport with athletes and understand the demands of performance environments from both practitioner and athlete perspectives.
