I am a counselling psychologist with a strong interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults from diverse and marginalised backgrounds. Across my fieldwork experiences in school and rehabilitation settings, I have engaged with individuals navigating complex emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, which has shaped my ability to create safe, responsive, and engaging therapeutic spaces. I tend to work in a flexible and integrative manner, adapting my approach based on the needs of the individual rather than relying on rigid structures. In my work with children, this has meant moving between conversation, play, and creative expression to sustain engagement and support emotional expression. These experiences have also taught me to prioritise the therapeutic relationship and process over strictly predefined goals. My dissertation, which explores the lived experiences of trans men in urban India, reflects my interest in identity, gender, and the ways in which individuals make meaning of their lives within specific cultural contexts. This, along with my own lived experiences of neurodivergence and queerness, informs a practice that is deeply rooted in empathy, reflexivity, and cultural sensitivity, while remaining mindful not to project my own experiences onto others. I bring a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens to my work, with an emphasis on understanding individuals within their broader social and cultural contexts. As an early-career practitioner, I value supervision, ongoing learning, and ethical practice, and strive to hold spaces that are collaborative, respectful, and attuned to each person’s unique experience.
