Amber Fieldgate

'm Amber, a qualified psychotherapist (MBACP) with six years of experience working online with adults and teenagers across the UK. My practice is grounded in person-centred and relational theory, informed by current research and evidence-based approaches to therapy. I work with a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions and identity. I also specialise in neurodivergence — including ADHD and autism — bringing both professional training and personal lived experience to this work. I believe meaningful change comes from the inside out. Rather than offering strategies or solutions, I work relationally and collaboratively, helping clients develop genuine self-understanding as the foundation for lasting change. A key part of my practice is working with parts — drawing on configurations of self theory (Mearns) to help clients explore and integrate the different, sometimes conflicting aspects of their inner world. My Masters in Counselling at the University of Edinburgh trained me in the dialogue between person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, and I draw on both in my work depending on what each client needs. This allows me to work with both the relational present and the deeper patterns rooted in a client's history. My practice is evidence-informed throughout, and integrates trauma-informed, emotion-focused and neuroaffirming frameworks where relevant. I see clients aged 13 and above. I am a registered member of the BACP, work within their Ethical Framework, and engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing CPD.
