About

I am a psychotherapist and counsellor who listens, supports and empowers clients to explore, identify and understand their needs helping them to achieve positive outcomes. I work integratively mainly using humanistic principles to work in relation to the present and a psychodynamic approach to explore the past and how this may be impacting currently. In addition I apply further modalities, for instance CBT and psychoanalytic work, as appropriate to enable the client to make sense of their world and their interventions within it – I do not believe that one approach suits all. I have 5+ years providing therapy, both in short and long-term work, supporting 16+ adults with a wide range of issues. I am responsible for the therapeutic process from initial referral, assessment and documentation through to the therapy sessions and follow up. Focus areas include abuse (emotional, physical and sexual), anxiety, attachment, confidence and self-esteem, depression, self-harm, ptsd and complex trauma. I also have an interest in chronic/long term health conditions and unexplained pain that may have roots in physical or emotional trauma.
