About

Finding a counsellor can feel quite overwhelming, especially when you may already be feeling overwhelmed by your own emotions. Counselling can be very helpful when we prioritise our well-being and personal growth. Understanding why we feel the way we do or why life feels challenging can be difficult on our own. You may have been feeling anxious, overly critical of yourself, down, disconnected from who you really are, or caught in repetitive cycles—whether in your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, or circumstances—that no longer support your well-being. I work collaboratively offering a confidential and safe space in which together we explore and make sense of what is challenging you in your life and how you managed up until now. By gaining a clearer understanding of the path that has shaped you up to this moment, we can begin to consider how to move forward in a way that aligns with who you are today. What happens after you have made contact with me? To ensure I am the right ‘fit’ for you as a counsellor, a 20 minute initial phone call will take place, free of charge. I will be asking you questions like: What are the reasons you are seeking out for support now? Have you had any previous experiences of counselling or therapy? If yes, what has or hasn’t helped? What are you looking to get out of counselling/therapy at this time? I will also be asking you about your past health and current support. You can also ask me anything for you to decide whether I am the right ‘fit’ for you. If we both agree after this phone call that we are the right ‘fit’, a booked full session will take place where the initial phone call can be discussed in more detail. If I feel I am not the right person to support your needs as a counsellor, I may offer alternative suggestions for alternative referral information. Training, qualifications and experience I completed my BSc in Psychology in Hertfordshire University and my MSc training at London Metropolitan University in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, C-PTSD, stress, life-transitions, drug and alcohol. My experience working with Haven the Survivors has allowed me to specialise in Trauma, sexual/domestic abuse (recent or historic).
