About

I am a Master’s-trained Clinical Psychologist with over two years of supervised clinical experience across hospital, educational, and community-based mental health settings. My work focuses on evidence-based psychological assessment and psychotherapy with adults and adolescents experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, interpersonal difficulties, and addictive disorders. I support individuals struggling with both substance-related addictions—such as alcohol and drugs—as well as behavioural addictions including gambling, internet and gaming addiction, and other compulsive behaviours. I completed 2.5 years of clinical training at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital in Nairobi, where I worked within multidisciplinary teams conducting psychological assessments, developing case formulations, and providing psychotherapy for individuals with a wide range of psychiatric and psychological conditions. This training strengthened my skills in comprehensive clinical evaluation, individualized treatment planning, risk assessment, and the delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. In addition to hospital-based practice, I have experience working within both primary and secondary school counselling offices, where I provided psychological support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural, academic, and psychosocial challenges. This work involved psychoeducation, early intervention, and collaboration with teachers and caregivers to support students’ psychological wellbeing. I have also served as a volunteer clinical psychologist at All Saints Cathedral, providing community-based counselling and psychosocial support to individuals and families navigating stress, grief, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, structured, and culturally responsive. I integrate modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, trauma-informed care, psychodynamic principles, and motivational interviewing as clinically indicated. I prioritise creating a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, while supporting them to develop insight, practical coping strategies, relapse-prevention skills, and sustainable behavioural change aligned with their values and life context.
