Ishaa Shaikh

My journey into psychology began in 2015, and over the years it has grown through study, clinical training, and hands-on work with people navigating some of life’s most difficult moments. I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with academic training in psychology and counselling that has shaped both how I think and how I relate to others in therapeutic spaces. Alongside my independent practice, I have worked with Cruse Bereavement Support, supporting individuals through loss, and with Rape Crisis, working with survivors of sexual violence. I also have experience in addiction counselling and early clinical exposure through hospital settings. These experiences have taught me to sit with complexity, uncertainty, and emotional pain with care, steadiness, and respect. My approach is relational, grounded, and non-judgemental. I aim to offer a calm and thoughtful space where people can speak openly about what feels heavy, confusing, or overwhelming, whether that relates to grief, trauma, burnout, workplace stress, identity changes, or personal struggles that are hard to name. I believe therapy is not about fixing people, but about meeting them where they are and taking their inner world seriously. I work at my clients’ pace, with warmth, honesty, and deep respect for each person’s experience.
