About

I provide psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, having completed my training at the Psychoanalytic Center of California (PCC), located in Los Angeles. I am a Fellow with the International Psychoanalytic Association and registered with the California Board of Psychology as a Research Psychoanalyst. My clinical foci have been anxiety, depression, and trauma. Trained in “infant observation,” I have a particular interest in early trauma and non-verbal states. Having been a college professor for over 20 years, I also enjoy working with young adults as they search out their own identities, and, on the other end of the spectrum, I work with older adults in processing grief, loss, and life transitions. A queer-friendly therapist, I am attuned to the challenges of relationships of all kinds and the pressures of social conventions. My therapy style is gentle and generous, helping me work with highly sensitive people and those with specialized diagnoses, such as ADHD, autistic encapsulations, or borderline tendencies. I do believe that our current and past relationships reflect our particular patterns of difficulty, and I equally believe these can be recast in the therapeutic relationship.
