Shikha Ahuja

As a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 11 years of experience in the mental health and addiction field, I bring a strengths-based lens to therapy, helping individuals uncover stories of resilience, meaning, and growth. In my work, I am particularly interested in looking beyond diagnostic labels and understanding the person within their broader life context. My PhD research explored personality strengths in individuals with addiction using a mixed-methods approach, reflecting my interest in recognizing positive human capacities alongside vulnerabilities. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and trauma-informed. I draw on Motivational Interviewing (MI), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and humanistic perspectives to create a collaborative and respectful therapeutic space. In addition to psychotherapy, I am also trained to conduct neuropsychological and cognitive assessments, which can help clarify concerns related to attention, memory, learning, and cognitive functioning. I am UGC-NET qualified and myacademic and research interests include personality, qualitative research methods, neuropsychology, and music cognition.
