Zabair Hussain

I am a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and current Doctorate in Clinical Psychology trainee at the University of Leeds, with over fifteen years’ experience working across NHS psychological services, academia, and community mental health settings. My professional background spans high-intensity CBT delivery, clinical leadership, supervision, service development, and teaching within both national and international contexts. I have extensive experience working with complex presentations including trauma, long-term health conditions, and common mental health difficulties, and I am particularly committed to improving engagement and access to psychological therapies within underserved and culturally diverse communities. longside my clinical work, I have held leadership roles managing psychological therapy services and supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams, ensuring services adhere to NICE guidance and evidence-based practice. I have also contributed to training and workforce development through supervision of CBT therapists, teaching on university psychology programmes, and providing consultation internationally. My approach is collaborative, reflective and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong emphasis on culturally responsive care and service improvement. I am particularly interested in the integration of clinical practice, research and leadership to enhance psychological service delivery and improve outcomes for diverse populations. My doctoral training continues to develop my skills in advanced psychological formulation, research methodology and systemic approaches to mental health care.
