About

In making the decision to start therapy, you are choosing yourself. Your wellbeing, your energy, and your heart over the dissatisfaction, melancholy, the repeated frustrations. Nothing will change unless something changes. And it can feel overwhelming to want to change, but there is something in you (no matter how small that part) that perhaps believes it could be better. That there is more to living than this. Trusting that part can be scary. It is also the first step. My goal as a UKCP accredited psychotherapist is to move with you through emotional difficulties, using creative interventions and metaphor to think about that which can be difficult to put into words. The work is relational and seeks to deepen personal understanding of patterns and sensations (yes we will be thinking together about your childhood). The therapeutic process can be overwhelming and exhausting – but I want to walk alongside you in it. I understand first-hand how difficult it is to feel ‘other’ because of various aspects of identity, and it is important to me to acknowledge the way structural oppression impacts our experiences. I take care to provide an inclusive and open environment where clients can feel accepted and able to talk about a variety of issues regardless of how they identify. I work in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive way, grounded in my own experiences and axis of difference. I seek to create a space to breathe and regulate amidst the chaos of day-to-day life, where for 50 minutes, you can focus purely on yourself. I offer 1:1 integrative therapy. This means I use a range of approaches, including psychodynamic (thinking about childhood relationships and patterns), person-centred (centring your experience and sensations), and creative (using music and arts where appropriate). I use a variety of interventions including mindfulness and grounding, to help us explore things that may be difficult to talk about directly.
