Krystal works with individuals—children and adults. Some of her specializations include neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.), depression, anxiety (generalized, separation anxiety, etc.), shame, grief, codependency, recovery from narcissistic abuse, OCD, stress, multicultural counseling, family of origin issues, spiritual trauma, reverse culture shock, immigration and acculturation stress, and creative burnout. Using a trauma-informed lens, Krystal tends to adopt an eclectic approach to working with clients. With an undercurrent of humanistic, client-centered warmth, non-judgment, and empathy undergirding her style, she loves to borrow from narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, strength-based, psychodynamic, and existential approaches—anything to meet the unique personalities and styles of each client. Besides being creative, many of her clients appreciate her for being a safe and grounded presence—one who is unafraid to welcome humor into the room.
