Luke Christophernello Seleber

Luke Christophernello is a psychologist, graduated in Psychology from Centro Universitário Salesiano (UNISAL) from Brasil, with a strong academic background and clinical practice grounded in Humanistic Psychology. He challenges rigid and outdated psychological models by adopting the Focusing approach, developed by Eugene Gendlin, emphasizing experiential awareness and ethical, person-centered care. He holds ten postgraduate degrees, all completed at Universidade Facuminas from Brasil, in the following areas: Clinical Psychology; Clinical Psychology and Higher Education Teaching; Higher Education Teaching; Traffic Psychology; Premium Neuropsychology; Premium Hospital Psychology; Organizational and Work Psychology; Psycho-Oncology; Mental Disorders – Neurobiology and Psychopharmacology; and Psychopedagogy. His commitment to reducing school violence led to the creation of Projeto Sonserina 🐍, inspired by the Harry Potter universe. This innovative initiative earned him a nomination for the University Oscar and media recognition in 2023, standing out as a pioneering project at the intersection of psychology, education, and violence prevention. Beyond academic and clinical work, Luke is actively engaged in social causes, with a strong focus on supporting immigrants and advocating for the rights of pregnant women in the labor market. He is widely recognized for his ethical, sensitive, and inclusive clinical practice, especially with Black individuals, women, and members of the LGBTQI+ community, while also working with heterosexual men. His clinical focus remains on individuals experiencing psychological distress, social vulnerability, or exclusion. With six years of professional experience, Luke has worked in rehabilitation clinics, prisons, and schools. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was on the front line of crisis response, while simultaneously providing full-time care to his mother for five years as she faced aggressive ovarian cancer. She passed away while Luke was still completing his undergraduate studies, profoundly shaping his ethical and humanistic approach to care. An openly bisexual psychologist and an active member of the LGBTQI+ community 🏳️‍🌈, Luke has transformed experiences of violence and discrimination into ethical strength and clinical commitment, grounding his work in respect, deep listening, and human dignity. He currently provides individual and couples therapy, including services covered by health insurance plans. In parallel with his work in Psychology, Luke pursues an interdisciplinary academic path, currently studying Visual Arts at Faculdade Única and Special Education at a different higher education institution, further expanding his clinical, pedagogical, and cultural perspective on human development, inclusion, and creative processes.
