Vijayalaxmi Umate

As an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist with an MPhil in Clinical Psychology, I am trained in evidence-based assessment and intervention. My clinical work primarily focuses on adult mental health, with experience supporting individuals dealing with mood concerns, relationship difficulties, stress, and identity-related challenges. I have worked across outpatient and community settings, including a de-addiction centre—an experience that strengthened my foundation in empathetic, structured, and recovery-oriented care. I follow a collaborative, client-centred approach and draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, and trauma-informed principles. I prioritise cultural competence, empathy, and a non-judgemental safe space, allowing clients to explore their experiences with trust and authenticity.
