Chi Kwan Ip

I am a locally trained counselling psychologist, mainly working with adolescents and adults with common mental health disorders. For clients who want to break free from their mental health struggles, find meaning in lives and facilitate self-understanding, my therapy session offers a safe space conducive to your overall wellbeing with unconditional positive regards and empathy. Besides my psychologist qualifications, I am also a mindfulness teacher. I like to plant the seed of mindfulness in the Hong Kong community and in the counselling room. Practicing mindfulness is my way being compassionate to myself and my clients. I will also integrate mindfulness in my practice to facilitate my clients for growing self-compassion, increasing awareness to the present moment and relieving stress. I am professionally trained for multiple psychotherapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and the Unified Protocol. I am flexible in utilizing elements from different approaches to tailor made the best treatment plan for you. I regard myself as a primarily humanistic psychologist, who believe that clients are the ultimate expert in their recovery. I believe human are fundamentally good and as a psychologist, I serve as a fellow traveler to accompany you through your journey to self-actualization.
