About

Clinical Psychologist | Trauma Specialist | Gender Equality Advocate Olive Oluwagbemileke (née Ogedegbe) is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of professional experience, including more than a decade specializing in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). I am currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Child Psychology, further deepening her expertise in human development and family systems. Her passion has always been to help people unlock their God-given potential by supporting them in developing the right mindset and emotional resilience.” I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations; children, youths, adults, couples, the elderly, and families, supporting them to overcome trauma, rebuild resilience, and foster healthy relationships.” Olive began her career at a psychiatric hospital, working with patients struggling with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and addiction. Over time, her passion for service led her into the field of Sexual and Gender Based Violence. where she has managed and supervised over 6,000 cases of domestic and sexual violence, marital conflict, and family trauma. As the former Head of the Psychology Department at the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), she provided leadership in trauma-informed care, family restoration, and psychological recovery for survivors. Beyond government service, Olive has collaborated with international organizations such as Morneau Shepell and LifeWorks Canada, and served as Head of Clinical Services at The Retreat addiction Rehabilitation Centre. A sought-after facilitator and trainer, she has conducted debriefings and workshops for police officers, magistrates, judges, media professionals, medical personnel, schools, churches, communities and NGOs I have spoken on national and international platforms, including the Lagos State Security Summit (2018), and recently at the 2025 Annual Convention of Police Officers’ Wives, at the invitation of the wife of the Inspector General of Police of Nigeria I have also been featured on BBC, Channels TV, STV, and Radio Lagos, using her voice to promote psychological well-being, gender equality and advocate against SGBV
