My name is Sri Turkavathe Mariadass, and I am writing to express my sincere interest in any counselling-related position within your organization. I completed my Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a full-time student in 2023, graduating with an overall CGPA of 3.83. I am passionate about empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges and would be honoured to apply my theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in support of your organization’s mission. Throughout my professional journey, I have developed a solid foundation in various counselling domains including Individual and Group Counselling, Career Development, Clinical Diagnosis, Counselling Ethics, Multicultural Counselling, and Supervision in Counselling. My practicum at UPM Community Clinic (252 hours) and University Tenaga Nasional’s Counselling Unit (504 hours) allowed me to work directly with diverse clients, facilitating meaningful personal growth and therapeutic change. These experiences strengthened both my counselling techniques and my interpersonal attributes essential to effective client support. Currently, I am serving as a full-time school counsellor, where I provide ongoing emotional, academic, and behavioural support to students across a wide age range. My role extends beyond student interaction—I actively liaise with parents to ensure holistic development and address familial challenges that affect student performance. In addition, I also conduct counselling sessions for school staff and teachers, offering support for stress management, professional well-being, and effective communication strategies. These multifaceted engagements have helped me cultivate a compassionate, collaborative counselling style tailored to different needs within the school community. I am a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in creating a safe and inclusive space for all clients. I am adaptable to new environments, eager to embrace challenges, and always ready to go the extra mile when needed am a licensed counsellor under the Malaysia Board of Counselling (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia - LKM), Additionally, my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS, 2013) has equipped me with strong communication skills an essential asset for my counselling practice. I believe my blend of academic background, hands-on experience, and compassionate approach to care aligns with your organization's values and goals.
