Lisa Lashansky

Biography Lisa Lashansky Registered psychologist Nourishing, collaborative, problem-solving, therapeutic, professional approach. I am a registered psychologist with a strong counselling background and have years of experience working with a range of clients who present with diverse issues across the lifespan. I enthusiastically create a nurturing, supportive, therapeutic environment for each session, supported by knowledge and experience and accompanied by a sense of humour and dollops of common sense. The focus is on using each client’s own strengths, know-how, intuition, and life experience to bring about refreshed insights and effective change. I particularly enjoy working with family dynamics, mindful parenting, the employment environment, young adults’ perspective, men’s mental health, creating harmony in relationships, and managing the impact of life transitions. I continually update my counselling skills and I am always open to learning from clients too. I also have a teaching and training background so that brings a beneficial form and structure to the sessions. Some of the therapeutic approaches I use are: psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour therapy, solutions focussed, strengths building, positive psychology, Rogerian client centred, transition across the developmental lifespan, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, systems network, and psycho-education.
